Since I was a young child, I have suffered from Asthma for many years. My parents worked so hard to ensure that Asthma did not affect my life so much. They took me to a physician every other month to get recommendations on how I could control or reduce Asthma effects in my body. As I grew old, I discovered that I had a great passion of riding bikes and most of my free time I watched my friends as they cycled around our neighborhood.
One day i got super exited and decided to ask my parents to buy me a bike. My mother did not like my request and she tried to do everything that could discourage me from riding bikes. She used to tell me that, if I was to ride a bike my Asthmatic condition could worsen and i might end up suffering from a chronic illness.
Despite some few warnings from my mother, One day I decided to borrow a bike for a ride from one of my friends. Since i didn’t knew how to ride, I requested my friends to teach me how to ride a bike and after 5 hours of practice, i was able to ride a bike by myself.
After learning how to ride a bike, I got so excited and I felt that I was missing out some great fun in my life. One day, my friend john got injured and could not cycle his bike again for several weeks. I decided to borrow his bike and I joined my other friends to the some cycling fun activities.
After cycling for about 20 miles per day, I noticed that my breathing system had improved and I had stopped using my inhaler. I went home and told my parents on how my Asthma had improved and they were so shocked. They took me to my physician and informed him on my recent life health changes.
My physician was so shocked to hear how I had greatly improved my Asthma by cycling. He informed my parents that cycling helps to unblock clogged chest arteries that lead to Asthmatic conditions but only in some rare cases. My physician advised my parents to let me cycle for some few minutes in a day and not for so many hours because it was unclear whether cycling rely helped to treat my Asthma condition.
When we went home, My father bought me a small mountain bike and advised me not to cycle outside our home compound. Everyday that I cycled my new my bike, i discovered that my immune system was improving and I no longer relied on my Asthma inhaler anymore. I also noticed that I had lost some weight trough cycling and this helped me to stay fit.
When I talked to my parents on how I had greatly improved on my weight and Asthmatic condition, they couldn’t believe it. When we went back to my physician for a check up, he noticed that my Asthmatic condition had greatly improved and cycling rely helped me to improve my health.
After we had all discovered that cycling was good for my health, my parents allowed me to join my friends during the weekends for some cycling fun activities. Up to date am 23 years old and I have never stopped cycling, my Asthma condition has greatly improved over the years and i only use my inhaler when am in a dusty environment.
